چکیده
The steady state behavior of regular two-connected multihoP networks in uniform traffic under hot-Pobto and a simple single-buffer deflection routing technique is analyzed for very high bit rate optical applications. Manhattan Street Network and ShuffleNet are compared in terms of throughput, delay, deflection probability, and hop distribution both analytically and network traffic. In a deflection routing network with equal link lengths, if the average statistics of the number of hops n are known, the packet rate can be obtained by conditioning

Transmission performance of transparent multi-wavelength optical cross-connected networks
The transmission performance of regular two-connected multi-hop transparent optical networks in uniform traffic under hot-potato, single-buffer deflection routing schemes is presented. Manhattan Street (MS) Network and ShuffleNet (SN) are compared in terms of bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) both analytically and by simulation. We implement a novel strategy of analysis, in which...

The steady state behavior of regular two-connected multihop networks in homogeneous load under hot-potato and single-buffer deflection routing is analyzed for ultrafast optical applications. Manhattan Street Network and ShuffleNet are compared in terms of throughput, delay and deflection probability both analytically and by simulation. It is analytically verified that single-buffer deflection r...
متن کاملHigh-speed All- Optical Time Division Multiplexed Node
In future high-speed self-routing photonic networks based on all-optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) it is highly desirable to carry out packet switching, clock recovery and demultplexing in the optical domain in order to avoid the bottleneck due to the optoelectronics conversion. In this paper we propose a self-routing OTDM node structure composed of an all-optical router and demultiplex...
متن کاملDesign of Arrayed Waveguide Grating based Optical Switch for High Speed Optical Networks
This paper demonstrates the design of an Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWG) based optical switch. In the design both physical and network layer analysis is performed. The physical layer power and noise analysis is done to obtain Bit Error Rate (BER). This has been found that at the higher bit rates, BER is not affected with number of buffer modules. Network layer analysis is done to obtain perfor...
متن کاملRouting without Flow Control Hot-Potato Routing Simulation Analysis
This paper presents a simulation analysis of the algorithm presented in “Routing without Flow Control,” by Busch, Herlihy and Wattenhoffer, 2001, [1]. The hot-potato routing algorithm is simulated using Rensselaer’s Optimistic Simulation System. The simulation uses a novel reverse computation approach to efficiently and optimistically parallelize the system simulation. In addition to simulating...
